Girona, Spain is a part of the Catalonia region, on the eastern tip of Spain, about 65 miles northeast of Barcelona along the Mediterranean Sea in an area known as the Costa Brava.

The mild Mediterranean climate of the Catalonia region is perfect for golfing all year-round. Golfing as a sport in Catalonia is relatively new - the first course having opened in 1914 - but thanks to the nice golf weather and climate, the sport grew quickly. Most of the courses are situated along the Mediterranean coast, offering splendid views of the ocean, while some are located in the Pyrenees and other places.
