Montagu Golf Course
Montagu, named after the Montagu pass was originally designed by Gary Player and is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past and was ranked as No. 7 in Golf Digest Rankings, 2011. The exquisitely conditioned Montagu is at the heart of Fancourt, with its glorious parkland layout, covering large tracts of varying terrain on rolling land. It's beauty is enhanced by mature trees, flower beds, shrubs and water hazards that provide a colourful contrast to the landscape.
The Links at Fancourt is without doubt the most impressive piece of golf design and construction ever in South Africa. Fancourt owner Dr Hasso Plattner, who took a very hands-on approach in the creation thereof, commissioned a golf course, which would not only be a thorough test for every golfer, but would also rank among the top courses in the world. Player's design team spent months studying the classic links courses of Scotland and Ireland and then, armed with inspiration from the best that those countries had to offer, embarked on the ambitious task of recreating some of their finest holes to make a genuine links test on what was once an airfield.
De Zalze Gof Estate
This international championship golf course, designed by Peter Matkovich, lies next to the Stellenbosch Golf Course in front of stunning mountains and surrounded by softly undulating vineyards. In our opinion De Zalze is one of the under rated gems in the Cape Winelands! The friendly club house atmosphere, combined with the great year round conditioning make this a welcome golfing retreat. Seenberg Golf Club
The Steenberg golf course is rated as one of the top three courses to visit in South Africa, while the Estate itself has earned global recognition as a flagship residential address. Situated mere minutes from the Cape Town city centre, Steenberg is a first-class destination for fine dining, wines of origin and luxury hotel accommodation. Steeped in the Cape Dutch tradition, history has an elegant, almost tangible quality at Steenberg. Nestled in the crook of the Constantiaberg Mountains, the Estate is a piece of time-crafted perfection some three centuries in the making.
Pearl Valley Golf Estate
The Pearl Valley Golf Estate is surrounded by the Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains and bordered by vineyards with The Berg River water hazard running through it. Nicklaus has stayed true to his design principles by working closely with nature and has provided a golf course that fits in with the environment. This fairly flat and largely uninterrupted terrain enabled Nicklaus the freedom to develop hole strategies making this a golf course the golfer has to think his/her way around. In its engineering and planning detail, the course is very rare. It is crossed by roads in only three places, and the drainage system allows play to continue just minutes after a severe cloudburst. Leopard Creek Golf Club
Leopard Creek Golf Course and Country Club is situated near Malelane in the heart of Mpumalanga, on the southern border of the Kruger National Park. Typical bushveld koppies overlook the course from the east, providing an ideal backdrop for a magnificent course. Johann Rupert created Leopard Creek, and with Gary Player, designed a championship 18-hole golf course as its center piece. Small streams and lakes are found throughout the development, creating challenging play to the golfer. Golfing hazards take on a new dimension at Leopard Creek, for much of the water is home to hippos and the creature for which the adjacent river is named - the crocodile. (arrangements include cart)
